Advent is a time filled with hope and anticipation, in which we prepare ourselves to joyfully celebrate our encounter with our Saviour, Son of God and Son of Mary, born in the city of Bethlehem. The Season of Advent offers us an invitation, illustrated by each of the Advent Sunday readings from the prophet Isaiah, to put aside any expression of despair, fear or anxiety, and reflect on a time of joy and peace which God desires for us.
