At his iconic ‘Urbi et Orbi’ blessing in March last year, Pope Francis tried to help the world see the pandemic as a moment of deep conversion. Catholics across the world are asking, ‘Where is Christ in this place? And what is he calling us to?’ Many of us sense holy possibilities, but there is almost an uncertainty. Working in a parish and speaking to lots of priests, I sense our clergy on one side praying ‘Post pandemic, God, help our people to step up’, whilst on the other, the lay are wondering, ‘What are we allowed to do?’
