James Joyce was born in Dublin in 1892, educated by the Jesuits and attended University College Dublin. He became a novelist with a unique stream of consciousness style and is best known for Ulysses and Finnegan’s Wake.

Nora Barnacle was born in Galway in 1884 and was working in Dublin as a chambermaid when she met Joyce on 16th June 1904.
