Preparing for COP 26 in Glasgow

COP26 is set to be the most important conference of its kind since 2015, when the Paris Agreement, heralded by many as the last global treaty that has a real chance of saving the world from a climate catastrophe, was signed.

It was passed in the wake of terrorist attacks on the city. Back then, world leaders were forced to turn their attention from the horror of those events and focus on the much more intangible threat of climate change. The recent outbreak of Covid-19 across the world, and the very real human tragedy it causes, will challenge world leaders again to re-focus attention on the longterm threat of climate change.
