Who, being anointed with ashes on Wednesday, 26th February this year, remembering that we are made of dust, would have thought that a bare month later, our society would be fighting with all our strength to escape returning to dust at the hand of Covid-19?

Nothing concentrates the mind like the threat of unexpected death. And the absence of any specific medical treatment to prevent or cure the virus makes that threat very real, especially for those of us who are over 60, and more so if we already have significant health problems and are male.
