The Telling

The Telling is a musical group that performs mediaeval, renaissance and ancient traditional music and song. Formed in 2009, and led by soprano Clare Norburn and mezzosoprano Ariane Prüssner, they are known for their intimate, staged concerts that are themed around the lives and experiences of extraordinary women from history such as the 12th century German Benedictine abbess Hildegard of Bingen; the 12th century Provencal troubadour poet and musician Countess Beatriz de Dia; and the passionate Christian and Jewish women of mediaeval Spain who sang the Marian pilgrim songs of Montserrat and the vivid romantic love ballads of the Sephardim.
