en years ago, on 15th March, protests in Syria degenerated into armed conflict.
The rebels said they wanted to establish a state of law that would respect human rights and fight corruption. Very quickly, everyone knew that these rebels were extremist Islamists (Daesh, Al Nosra and similar groups); that they wanted to bring down the only secular state in the region to turn it into an Islamic State; and they were armed and financed by the least progressive countries in the world. They were supported by Western countries who wanted to bring down the only regime in the region that dared to say no to their hegemony (after having got rid of the Iraqi and Libyan leaders).
