A God who loves us

When we look at our world today and the earth that we inhabit, it is difficult not to see crises and devastation. For two years, we have endured the coronavirus pandemic, which has affected us all, in a variety of ways, but most of all it has had a profound effect the poorest and most vulnerable. For years we have witnessed the anguish of refugees who continue to make the most difficult and dangerous journeys in the hope of safety and the possibility of a better life. Every part of our world has been badly affected by floods, droughts, and extreme temperatures. Now we are witnessing the cruel and devastating war in Ukraine. I have heard people ask, why is God allowing such events to take place? I have heard others question their faith in a God who seems to be watching but not intervening, and who can blame them.
