Since my last article I’ve moved to a new city, found a new home and I am starting a new job. Once that might have seemed like an awful lot of change, but somehow, with the backdrop of a global pandemic, the upheaval wasn’t too major. As restrictions are lifted it feels like that fog of confusion and uncertainty is slowly being lifted from the country, taking with it that slow ‘retreat’- like vibe. My Instagram feed is filling up with people’s post-Covid haircuts, reunion trips to the pub and holiday plans. We seek normality, the familiar and therefore safe.
